water - heater

This is one view of a Tank-less water heater relocated outside and mounted on the wall near the gas meter. The difference between an old traditional water heater and the new tank-less is the gas volume. An old unit is only about 40,000 btu's. The new Tank-less is about 200,000 btu's. So the gas pipe size needs to be larger or close to the gas meter to install this new technology. For an inside installation the unit require stainless steel exhaust venting which is expensive. Once installed it will last a very long time. Here are the websites of two brands we like to install, www.takagi.com and www.rinnai.com
